Pre-auth JVM crash via unchecked allocation
Published Aug 18, 2026 · Updated Aug 19, 2026
Denial of service in RabbitMQ Java Client before 5.33.1 allows remote attackers to crash the JVM via a crafted AMQP handshake field. In ValueReader.readBytes, src/main/java/com/rabbitmq/client/impl/ValueReader.java allocates a byte array from the wire-declared contentLength before verifying that the frame actually contains that many bytes, so a LongString or byte-array field can force an approximately 2 GB allocation and OutOfMemoryError. Reachability is pre-authentication during connection.start server-properties parsing, so any application that connects to an attacker-controlled AMQP peer can be terminated before authentication completes.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
