Authenticated code execution via unsandboxed incident templates
Published Aug 10, 2026 · Updated Aug 10, 2026
Server-side template injection in Cachet 2.4.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute PHP code via incident templates. BladeRenderer passes stored template text directly to Blade::render, while TwigRenderer creates an unsandboxed Twig Environment that permits PHP function calls. Any non-admin account can create a template and trigger its evaluation by creating an incident, causing commands to run as the web server process.
