Authenticated data disclosure via nested ORM lookups
Published Aug 11, 2026 · Updated Aug 11, 2026
ORM injection in NetBox 4.5.8 allows remote authenticated users to extract protected data through crafted nested REST API writes. WritableNestedSerializer treats attacker-controlled JSON dictionary keys as Django ORM lookup expressions and evaluates them against an unrestricted queryset. A valid API token, including a read-only token, is required; successful queries disclose field values beyond the token's object permissions.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
