Authenticated user and group enumeration via unchecked handlers
Published Aug 11, 2026 · Updated Aug 11, 2026
Missing authorization in OpenIM Server 3.8.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to enumerate all users and groups. The GetPaginationUsers, GetAllUserID, and GetGroups handlers return platform-wide records without calling authverify.CheckAdmin on the bearer-token identity. Any regular user token is sufficient to disclose account identifiers, profile metadata, manager flags, and details of private groups the account has never joined.
