Unauthenticated service interruption via management stop endpoint
Published Aug 5, 2026 · Updated Aug 5, 2026
Missing authentication in Milvus 2.6.22 and earlier and 3.0.0 allows remote attackers to stop server components over HTTP. The /management/stop handler on port 9091 reads an untrusted role query parameter and invokes the component stop callback outside REST API authentication middleware. Network access to the management port is sufficient to shut down proxy, datanode, or querynode processes, interrupting service until operators restart them.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
