Root command execution via unquoted ttyd arguments
Published Aug 3, 2026 · Updated Aug 3, 2026
OS command injection in OpenWrt LuCI 26.162.29621~507ab5e allows remote authenticated users to execute commands as root through HTTP /ubus. The run_ttyd handler appends request-controlled id, cmd, and uid values to ttyd_cmd and sends the unquoted string to system(), so /bin/sh interprets shell metacharacters. Reachability requires luci-app-dockerman, an exposed LuCI/rpcd management interface, and a session holding the package's read ACL or equivalent ubus permission.
