Service interruption via gzip request decompression
Published Aug 3, 2026 · Updated Aug 3, 2026
Resource exhaustion in Apache NiFi 1.5.0 through 2.10.0 allows remote attackers to exhaust memory via gzip-encoded REST requests. The Jersey encoding filter applies the configured request-size limit to compressed bytes, then expands attacker-controlled gzip content without an output-size bound. No authentication or user interaction is required; exhausting heap memory interrupts the NiFi service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
