Stored XSS via unescaped package-material comments
Published Sep 21, 2026 · Updated Sep 21, 2026
Stored XSS in Thoughtworks GoCD 13.3.0 through 25.4.0 allows attackers to execute script in a victim's browser. Material comment renderers treat forged package-material trackback JSON as trusted markup and insert its HTML or JavaScript without correct encoding or escaping. The attacker needs write access to a tracked material, and exploitation occurs only when a user opens a view that renders the malicious modification; the script runs with that user's session privileges.
