Remote code execution via heap buffer overflow
Published Sep 8, 2026 · Updated Sep 10, 2026
Heap-based buffer overflow in Microsoft's Windows USB Mass Storage Class Driver allows remote attackers to execute code over a network. Microsoft identifies improper input validation in the driver but has not published the malformed network input or code path that overruns a heap buffer. No authentication or user interaction is required; successful exploitation permits attacker-controlled code on the affected Windows host.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
