Local privilege escalation via driver use-after-free
Published Sep 8, 2026 · Updated Sep 9, 2026
Use-after-free in the Windows Bind Filter Driver allows local users on affected Windows builds to elevate privileges through local execution. The driver accesses an object after its memory has been freed, but Microsoft has not disclosed the affected function, object type, or triggering input. A low-privileged account and local execution are required; successful exploitation grants elevated privileges on the host.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
