Local data disclosure via incomplete cleanup
Published Aug 11, 2026 · Updated Aug 25, 2026
Information disclosure in Microsoft Office PowerPoint allows local users to read residual data from prior processing via local access. Microsoft has disclosed only that PowerPoint performs incomplete cleanup; public records do not identify the code path that leaves temporary or in-memory data uncleared after use. Exploitation is local and published scoring treats it as requiring no prior privileges but user interaction, so exposure depends on a user opening attacker-supplied content on the same system.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Published CVSS scores
CVSS describes severity. EPSS estimates exploitation probability.
Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
Public exploit references
No public exploit references are available in this record.
Labels summarize the accepted research assessment. They do not indicate a test against your environment.
