Authentication outage via unchecked PAM token length

Out-of-bounds read in the SSSD PAM responder allows local users to crash SSSD-mediated authentication with a crafted protocol v1 request. extract_authtok_v1() passes an unchecked auth_token_length to sss_authtok_set_password(), and downstream code reads str[len-1] beyond the request buffer. Exploitation requires local access to the world-writable PAM responder socket; repeated responder crashes can cause a persistent authentication outage for SSSD-managed users.
