CVE-2026-6863Network attack vector

Authenticated cross-organization file read via mis-scoped authorization

Published May 6, 2026 · Updated May 6, 2026

Improper authorization in Rapid7 Velociraptor before 0.76.4 allows remote authenticated users to read files across organizations. Affected HTTP filestore handling uses a caller-supplied organization identifier without enforcing the target organization's permissions before returning file content. A reader in the root organization can reach subordinate organizations with one GET request, but a reader confined to a subordinate organization cannot reverse the access path.
