Private board disclosure via unawaited export guard
Published Aug 19, 2026 · Updated Aug 19, 2026
Broken access control in WeKan before 9.74 allows remote authenticated users to read private board data via the Excel export route. In models/exportExcel.js, the GET /api/boards/:boardId/exportExcel handler calls the async exporterExcel.canExport(user) guard without await, so the truthy Promise bypasses board visibility checks and exporterExcel.build(res) still generates the file. Any authenticated non-member who knows a board ID can download card titles, descriptions, lists, swimlanes, members, and related metadata from otherwise private boards.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
