Heap buffer overflow in OpenEXR 3.3.0 through 3.3.12 and 3.4.0 through 3.4.13 allows attackers to crash a reader via a crafted EXR file. The PyOpenEXR flat-channel loader maps literal and prefixed RGB names to one key, then reuses a scalar NumPy array for three-stride RGB slices and writes past its heap allocation. Exploitation requires opening a crafted flat scanline EXR through OpenEXR.File(path) with separate_channels=false; the demonstrated consequence is a process crash, not arbitrary code execution.
