CVE-2026-68508

Code execution via attacker-selected instantiate callables

Published Aug 21, 2026 · Updated Aug 21, 2026

Code injection in Meta Platforms Hydra before 1.3.4 allows context-dependent attackers to execute arbitrary code via untrusted configuration. The _resolve_target() path in hydra/_internal/instantiate/_instantiate2.py resolves attacker-controlled target values and invokes the selected Python callable with attacker-controlled arguments. Exploitation requires a consuming application, library, CLI workflow, or model loader to pass untrusted configuration, overrides, or metadata to hydra.utils.instantiate(), and execution is limited to that process's privileges.
