CPU denial of service via unbounded XML-number parsing
Published Sep 11, 2026 · Updated Sep 11, 2026
CPU exhaustion in FasterXML jackson-databind allows remote attackers to stall JSON processing via crafted XML datatype strings. CoreXMLDeserializers.Std._deserialize passes unchecked strings to DatatypeFactory for Duration or XMLGregorianCalendar, bypassing JSON-number length limits and triggering quadratic numeric parsing. Applications must bind untrusted input to these types; default mappers suffice, and concurrent requests can saturate worker threads without disclosing or modifying data.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
