CVE-2026-68474

Local kernel memory corruption via SPU bounds error

Published Aug 15, 2026 · Updated Aug 15, 2026

Out-of-bounds access in affected Linux kernel builds allows local users to read or write beyond SPU local-store memory. spufs_mem_mmap_access subtracts the mapping start to form an offset but compares it with the mapping end, leaving the copy length unbounded against LS_SIZE. Reachability requires a ppc64 Cell Broadband Engine system, loaded spufs support, and permission to access an SPU context; a successful access can disclose or corrupt adjacent kernel memory.
