Service interruption via premature pin-state rejection

Improper workflow enforcement in Linux kernel 6.16 allows local users to interrupt service through an SDHCI i.MX pin-state transition. esdhc_change_pinstate() rejects a request before its default switch case whenever either optional 100 MHz or 200 MHz pin state is absent, blocking restoration of the default configuration. Reachability requires i.MX SDHCI hardware with a sleep pinctrl state but without both high-speed pin states; the resulting device state can impair availability.
