Code execution via malformed XCOFF object linking

Heap-based buffer overflow in GNU Binutils ld on affected Red Hat products allows local users to execute code or crash via a crafted XCOFF file. Red Hat has not published the faulty XCOFF parsing routine or the incorrect bounds operation that causes the heap overwrite during linking. Exploitation requires a user to process the attacker-supplied object file, after which the linker process can execute unauthorized code or terminate.
