Denial of service via premature interrupt enablement
Published Aug 10, 2026 · Updated Aug 10, 2026
Denial of service in the Linux sata_dwc_460ex driver allows local users to destabilize affected PowerPC systems during probe. The probe path calls sata_dwc_enable_interrupts() before platform_get_irq() and ata_host_activate(), unmasking interrupts before a handler exists. Exposure requires an AppliedMicro SATA DWC controller with sata_dwc_460ex present; a premature interrupt or later setup failure can trigger an interrupt storm and service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
