CVE-2026-68371

Kernel memory corruption via borrowed device-node release

Published Aug 10, 2026 · Updated Aug 10, 2026

Use-after-free in the OMAP2430 USB driver in Linux allows local users to read, modify, or crash the kernel via driver probing. omap2430_probe() copies the platform device's borrowed of_node pointer without taking a reference, then calls of_node_put() on success and error paths, prematurely releasing an object that remains reachable. The path runs when an OMAP MUSB device-tree node binds during boot or a deferred probe; deliberate bind or unbind retriggering requires administrative access.
