CVE-2026-68321

Local denial of service via leaked FDIR filters

Published Aug 10, 2026 · Updated Aug 10, 2026

Resource leak in the Linux txgbe network driver allows local users to exhaust system resources by removing a down interface. Perfect FDIR filters added while the interface is down remain on a software list because unregister_netdev() skips txgbe_close() and its txgbe_fdir_filter_exit() cleanup when the device is not up. Exploitation requires a Wangxun txgbe NIC and local access able to create filters and remove the driver; repeated affected removals gradually consume resources, leading to denial of service.
