CVE-2026-68298

Local service interruption via GPU resource leak

Published Aug 10, 2026 · Updated Aug 10, 2026

Resource leak in Linux kernel 6.18 allows local users to exhaust Intel Xe GPU memory-management resources through failed VM creation. In xe_vm_create(), the drm_gpuvm_resv_object_alloc() failure unwind omits xe_svm_fini() and, in fault mode, xe_svm_close(), leaving gpusvm and pagemap allocations live. Low-privilege local access to an Intel Xe GPU and an allocation failure are required; repeated leaks can exhaust resources and interrupt service.
