CVE-2026-6829Network attack vector

Arbitrary file access via unchecked workspace paths

Published Apr 21, 2026 · Updated Apr 21, 2026

Path traversal in Nathan Esquenazi Hermes WebUI before 0.50.34 allows remote authenticated users to read and write arbitrary files. Four session and workspace endpoints resolved caller-supplied paths but never verified that the result remained beneath the configured workspace root. A valid WebUI session is required, and access is limited to files readable or writable by the server process.
