GPU job interruption via underestimated command-buffer demand
Published Aug 10, 2026 · Updated Aug 10, 2026
Improper dependency accounting in the Linux kernel allows local users to interrupt GPU jobs through paired submissions. job_count_remaining_native_deps() omits the fence between paired geometry and fragment jobs, so prepare_job() underestimates fragment CCCB demand. A compatible PowerVR device and an almost-full fragment CCCB are required; run_job() can then omit commands, trigger kernel warnings, and time out waiting jobs.
