System instability via double-disabled DSI clocks
Published Aug 10, 2026 · Updated Aug 10, 2026
Improper resource handling in the Linux cdns-dsi bridge allows local users to trigger a clock-framework warning during system suspend. UNIVERSAL_DEV_PM_OPS registers cdns_dsi_suspend for both runtime power management and system sleep, so the second path disables DSI clocks that are already off. The affected Cadence DSI driver and a runtime-suspend-then-system-suspend sequence are required; the reported consequence is a warning and system instability, not data access or code execution.
