Local system crash via unmapped AMDGPU buffer
Published Aug 10, 2026 · Updated Aug 10, 2026
NULL pointer dereference in Linux kernel 6.18 allows local users in the render group to crash systems via an AMDGPU mapping-info ioctl. amdgpu_gem_op_ioctl passes a NULL result from amdgpu_vm_bo_find into the valid-mapping iterator when the requested buffer has never been mapped. An AMD GPU and permission to issue render ioctls are required; systems without AMD GPUs are unaffected.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
