System instability via unlocked pstate context pointer
Published Aug 10, 2026 · Updated Aug 10, 2026
NULL pointer dereference in the Linux kernel amdgpu driver allows local users to crash or destabilize an affected system. amdgpu_ctx_init() accesses the shared stable_pstate_ctx pointer without holding adev->pm.stable_pstate_ctx_lock, allowing concurrent sysfs and context operations to clear it during initialization. Low-privileged local access and an AMD GPU using context pstate handling are required; triggering can interrupt the system or overwrite the configured pstate.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
