Kernel oops via reversed ucopy cleanup
Published Aug 10, 2026 · Updated Aug 10, 2026
Denial of service in the Linux kernel allows local users to trigger a kernel oops through Nouveau DRM operations. The nouveau_uvmm_vm_bind_ucopy() and nouveau_exec_ucopy() error paths free resources in allocation order, causing kvfree() to dereference an ERR_PTR after an input-copy failure or leaking an earlier allocation after an output-copy failure. Reachability requires local access to the Nouveau DRM user API and a copy failure; the bounded consequence is a kernel oops or memory leak.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
