CVE-2026-68216

Service interruption via unreleased queued video buffers

Published Aug 10, 2026 · Updated Aug 10, 2026

Resource leak in the Linux pwc media driver allows local users to interrupt service through unreleased queued video buffers. pwc_start_streaming returns after device disconnection or an interrupted mutex without calling vb2_buffer_done, leaving videobuf2 buffers owned by the driver. Reachability requires supported Philips WebCam hardware and a low-privileged local user able to start streaming and trigger either error path.
