Local denial of service via leaked video buffers
Published Aug 10, 2026 · Updated Aug 10, 2026
Resource leakage in the Linux kernel sun4i-csi driver from 5.4 allows local users to exhaust resources by forcing streaming setup to fail. sun4i_csi_start_streaming() returns -EINVAL for an unmatched CSI format without passing queued buffers to vb2_buffer_done(), leaving vb2's driver-owned count nonzero. Only systems using an Allwinner sun4i-csi camera are exposed, and repeated failures can deny service as queued buffers accumulate.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
