CVE-2026-68110

Local kernel crash via unaligned fence address

Published Aug 10, 2026 · Updated Aug 10, 2026

Improper input validation in the Linux kernel allows local users to crash affected systems through a crafted AMDGPU command submission. The sdma_v4_4_2_ring_emit_fence function passes an unaligned, userspace-controlled fence address to two BUG_ON assertions, triggering a fatal panic instead of tolerating the address. Access to an AMD GPU render node and a vulnerable kernel containing the SDMA 4.4.2 driver is required; the reported consequence is system-wide availability loss.
