CVE-2026-68108

GPU memory corruption via overflowed VCE image size

Published Aug 10, 2026 · Updated Aug 10, 2026

Out-of-bounds access in Linux 4.2 through 7.2-rc1 allows local users to corrupt GPU-accessible memory via crafted VCE commands. The amdgpu VCE parser calculates image buffer size with 32-bit multiplication, so oversized dimensions wrap the size to zero and bypass validation. Access to a local AMD GPU render node is required; the resulting firmware operation reads or writes beyond the intended buffer and can crash the GPU or system.
