CVE-2026-68100Network attack vector

Kernel memory disclosure via unchecked SID count

Published Aug 10, 2026 · Updated Aug 10, 2026

Out-of-bounds read in Linux ksmbd allows remote authenticated users to disclose about 1 KB of kernel heap memory over SMB. set_ntacl_dacl() copies an unchecked SID num_subauth value from a stored DACL, and set_posix_acl_entries_dacl() uses it to index beyond the 15-entry sub_auth array. Exploitation requires an authenticated SMB session with DACL-write rights, an ACL-xattr share, and a POSIX-ACL inode; it can disclose kernel memory or crash the host.
