Unmount hang via fuse-uring registration race
Published Aug 10, 2026 · Updated Aug 10, 2026
A race condition in fuse-uring in Linux 6.14 allows local users to hang an unmount operation indefinitely during ring registration. The fuse_uring_create_ring_ent path allocates an entry before taking queue_refs, so a concurrent connection abort sees zero references and skips cleanup. A local process must race io_uring registration against FUSE connection teardown; success leaves the unmount thread unkillably blocked and leaks the ring, queue, and entry.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
