CVE-2026-68091

Kernel code execution via unstopped HID hardware

Published Aug 10, 2026 · Updated Aug 10, 2026

Use-after-free in the Linux Wacom HID driver allows physically proximate attackers to execute kernel code through a crafted HID device. The wacom_parse_and_register() error paths release Wacom resources after hid_hw_start() succeeds without first stopping hardware, leaving callbacks and delayed work to access freed state. Connecting a rogue Wacom-class HID device is sufficient; ensuing memory disclosure, arbitrary writes, kernel code execution, panic, or hang remains inside the host kernel.
