Pre-authentication service interruption via unbounded symbol cache
Published Aug 5, 2026 · Updated Aug 5, 2026
Resource exhaustion in Apache Qpid Broker-J 10.0.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to interrupt the broker via AMQP traffic. During pre-authentication AMQP 1.0 decoding, attacker-supplied symbol values enter a cache with no size bound, allowing distinct values to consume heap indefinitely. No authentication or user interaction is required; exhausting heap can make messaging unavailable, while confidentiality and integrity remain unaffected.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
