Stored XSS via unescaped chatbot settings
Published May 12, 2026 · Updated May 12, 2026
Stored XSS in FastBots for WordPress 1.0.12 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through plugin settings. The plugin saves Source URL and Bot ID settings without sufficient sanitization and later emits them without proper output escaping. Administrator access is required, and exposure is limited to multisite installations or sites where unfiltered_html is disabled; injected code executes when a user loads an affected page.
