Improper input validation in NASA cFS 7.0.1 allows remote attackers to reset the processor through a forged event-monitor message. The HS EventMon path matches spoofable AppName and EventID payload fields against HS.EventMon_Tbl and invokes CFE_ES_ResetCFE() without verifying a trusted sender identity. The demonstrated network path requires exposed UDP command ingest, CF/CFDP file retention, CFE_TBL activation, and enabled event monitoring; missions without those paths have different exposure.
