Privilege escalation via unvalidated backup SQL execution
Published Aug 17, 2026 · Updated Aug 18, 2026
SQL injection in AzuraCast 0.23.7 and earlier allows remote attackers to gain administrator access through a crafted backup archive. The azuracast:restore command extracts db.sql and sends its statements to the database without validating or sanitizing the archive contents. Exploitation requires the archive to reach the backup directory and the restore command to process it; injected SQL can create a super administrator account.
