CVE-2026-67846Public exploit

Local privilege escalation via unchecked address translation state

Published Aug 18, 2026 · Updated Aug 18, 2026

Incorrect privilege assignment in BOOM v3 and v4 NBDTLB allows local users to escalate privileges through invalid memory permissions. At commit 5223e44cfeb26f41380057a2eb4d651197475f69, read and write checks consume raw mstatus.SUM without validating that satp.MODE enables address translation. Exploitation requires a privileged transition that leaves mstatus.SUM set while satp.MODE is zero, enabling privilege escalation or protected-memory disclosure.
