CVE-2026-67618Network attack vectorHinoki check available

API key exfiltration via unchecked notebook metadata

Published Aug 4, 2026 · Updated Aug 4, 2026

Configuration injection in Marimo Inc. marimo before 0.23.15 allows attackers to exfiltrate operator API keys through crafted notebooks. sanitize_pyproject_dict fails to reject a PEP-723 ai.open_ai.base_url, so notebook metadata overrides operator settings while the environment API key remains the authentication fallback. Opening the file alone executes no cells; disclosure occurs when the operator makes an AI request, which sends the key to the attacker-controlled endpoint.
