Authenticated draft overwrite via missing authorization
Published Aug 3, 2026 · Updated Aug 3, 2026
Missing authorization in Camaleon CMS 2.9.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to overwrite other users' draft posts. DraftsController#create and #update use global draft queries, accept attacker-controlled record identifiers, and mutate or save drafts without authorization checks. Any authenticated low-privileged account can replace another user's draft content, take ownership, or place forged material where an editor can later publish it.
