Privilege escalation in Advanced Cluster Management for Kubernetes allows authenticated attackers to deploy cluster resources via HelmRelease CRs. The HelmRelease controller's NewManager() function builds Helm action.Configuration from the controller's own kubeconfig, then applies chart templates without impersonation, SubjectAccessReview, GVK filtering, or namespace coercion. Any tenant that can create a HelmRelease custom resource can use the controller's wildcard ServiceAccount to create cluster-scoped or cross-namespace objects across the cluster.
