Code execution via oversized PLC message processing

Stack-based buffer overflow in Bendix EC80 Brake ECU firmware allows attackers to execute code via an adjacent vehicle network. The PLC parser accepts an incorrect message-string length and overflows a stack buffer while processing the resulting input. Unauthenticated access to the adjacent J2497/CAN path is sufficient; exploitation can crash the ECU, inject CAN traffic, and disable ABS, steering assist, speedometer, or shifting.
