Crash via undetached encoded-frame ArrayBuffers
Published Apr 21, 2026 · Updated Jul 15, 2026
Use-after-free in Firefox's WebRTC component on Red Hat Enterprise Linux allows remote attackers to crash the browser via web content. RTCEncodedAudioFrame and RTCEncodedVideoFrame destructors clear the buffer reference before detachment, leaving JavaScript ArrayBuffers pointing to freed frame memory. Triggering requires attacker-controlled script execution and media.peerconnection.scripttransform.enabled to be true; the public reproducer demonstrates a crash, not arbitrary code execution.
