Authenticated routing interruption via consecutive topic wildcards

Published Sep 25, 2026 · Updated Sep 25, 2026

Denial of service in RabbitMQ Server 4.3.0 through 4.3.4 allows remote authenticated users to interrupt broker routing via crafted topic bindings. Both topic trie matchers revisit identical node and routing-key-suffix states without memoization, materializing duplicate destinations before deduplication. Ordinary tenant permissions to bind a queue and publish to its topic exchange are sufficient; one short key can consume shared CPU and memory and halt routing across vhosts.
