Agent-to-Administrator escalation via unchecked account linking
Published Apr 27, 2026 · Updated Apr 27, 2026
Privilege escalation in LatePoint 5.4.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users with the agent role to take over a WordPress site. The connect-customer-to-wp-user ability execute() method accepts any existing WordPress user ID and links it to a customer without checking the target account role. The default latepoint_agent customer__edit capability reaches this path, after which the customer password-reset flow changes the linked administrator password and grants full site control.
