Server-admin escalation via exposed database methods
Published Aug 2, 2026 · Updated Aug 2, 2026
Privilege escalation in Arcade Data ArcadeDB before 26.7.3 allows remote authenticated users to gain server-wide administrator access. ScriptTriggerExecutor binds the real LocalDatabase object into a GraalVM context with HostAccess.ALL, exposing getSecurity().createUser() without an internal permission check. UPDATE_SCHEMA permission is sufficient to create and fire the JavaScript trigger, which persists a new administrator across all databases.
